My answer is probably not unless you deleted the history in Windows Explorer and not in Internet Options. If you deleted it in Windows Explorer then there is a chance that it may have simply been moved to the recycle bin.0

Hi yes there is there is a program called Index.Dat Veiwer which can read the INDEX.DAT file , this is the file that you cant delete and and can only be cleared with programs windows cant do it on its own
Hope this helpsIf it doesn't fit, force it; if it breaks, it needed replacement anywaySarcasm helps keep you from telling people what you really think of them

I've had the Super Winspy program on my computer for a while (the last button at the top is to view index.dat). I like to check that my privacy programs are erasing index.dat properly.
One thing though - a few anti-spyware progs flag it as spyware. Not because it's sending anything back to its base, just because it's something that could invade privacy - which of course is why you downloaded it so it's not a concern (unless you're the one it's being used to spy on)
You can view index.dat without a viewer, but you have to read past the code. On my computer I can go to
C:\Documents and Settings\Stephen\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\
then right-click index.dat and select to open with notepad.
You see a file that contains things like:ð!URL \Ï'G9Æ€Áõ
v9Æ1tÄ™ r ` h A À O X4]™ X4]™
