It's easy for customer services to tell the customer what they want to hear because they don't have to deal with the agro in store. We often have to deal with customers who have been given the wrong information by customer services.
This is off the website:Please note that our prices change, sometimes on a daily basis.
The price you pay is the price in store on the day you collect your items
Some managers will as a gesture of good will reduce the items for you, but they do not have to.0 -
Well a result the item i reserved i got it for the lower price,i was not going to bother getting it as i had noticed the price had went up and i thought it was a case of the price you pay is the price the day you pick it up,but i sent an email to argos asking this and got a confusing email but kind of said it item was reserved then i should get it for that price.
So i took the email they sent me and my reservation and when i went to pay for it they said the higher price but i handed the info to them,no questions asked they messed about with till and give it to me for lower price,i asked about this and that i was not even going to bother getting it etc and they said if an item is reserved at the lower price you get it for that price, wish i had known this before as the amount of times i reserved items and not went for it as price went up now i know they hounor the prices you reserve i will know from now on so ,so that was a saving for me of £33 plus i got a £5 voucher tooTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
The Argos policy is very clear, how there are still some obvious Argos employees putting views on here which are years out of date is scary
If you look at an item on Argos webite which is reduced it clearly states the end date of that promotional price. Argos will honour the price you reserved the item at, as long as you have your reservation number we can check when you made the reservation and hence the price at that time. If you are unfortunate to enter a store that does not know this or where it's too much trouble to check either ask for a manager or phone customer services.
What you need to remember is don't start shouting at the poor bod in front of you on the till, they don't know when you reserved it, a little politeness goes a long way0 -

If you are referring to Collie, then I disagree as technically the policy is that you pay the current price - as stated on the Check and Reserve page of the Argos website.
Whilst the majority of stores will honour the reserved price once informed of the price increase, they are not obligated to.:A0 -
Yeah back when i was still managing that all came in as part of the first few phases of FFE, however the "official" policy communicated to customers (and as far as i can see still is) is that the price you pay in store is the price on the day. I think the whole thing saying stores have too is a big grey area and as part of FFE HO were just giving stores official authorisation to honour prices
You just have to have a nice approach about it, i know if it was a busy day and a nightmare customer was shouting the odds over a few pound i'd just point out the offical C+R policy, and not do it, Argos is not a nice enviroment to work in when its mad busy so being nice goes a longggg way0 -
Any staff member can access Store Procedures on the stores intranet which gives the specific policy on reserved prices. Obviously that's an internal company policy so can't be discussed in the open.
As it is, it is stated very clearly that the price you pay is the price in-store on the day; because a lot of the time, the prices have been reduced due to tactical activity so are at that price at that time for a reason. Nonetheless, if you've reserved it at the cheaper price, just mention it to the cashier; dont be rude - the cashier won't know what the price was when you reserved it, because the screen will only tell them the current selling price; and a solution can be reached, if policy is stuck to.Argos Staff Member.
I'll gladly help with any queries - but if you have any problems and need to get some real guidance, go back to your local store or contact customer services (argos.co.uk).
