Dual fuel deal not cheaper - easy to separate? Cashback?

Hi all,

I'm currently with Scottish Power, but my pricefall contract ran out yesterday. I'd like to switch as it looks like my bill will be around 50% higher for the same usage as over last year (will try to reduce as it is high).

I've just done comparisons, and Dual fuel with Brit gas looks like cheapest which will work out to £1405 for the year. But if I do gas only, then Npower is cheapest at

£1405 - dual with Brit gas

£ 889 - gas with npower
£ 451- elec with bg - British Gas
=£1341 Total

What is the best way to go about switching from Dual fuel to separate fuel, and are there any cash back deals for doing so?

Would appreciate your ideas.

Thanks

Yes, separate companies for each fuel can easily outweigh dual bonuses.

Currently only Scottish Power offer any significant cashbacks. The amount offered (just now) by everyone else is irrelevantly small.

As to the best way, just switch - there is no difference between switching to separate and switching to dual fuels.

As always, you have to take into consideration any annual discounts that are included that may mislead in the event of a price rise.

Use the cashback switching sites in the resource bar above

Use one to switch your gas supply and perhaps another to switch your electric supply.

Edit: just looked at the links by BLF above and it looks like thouse may be best for your switch to nPower
