all done and last week we used 33 kwh of gas and 40 kwh of electricity

    :D:D:D

The draw should have been done by now but I don`t see any winner as yet

Hardly dare look at gas meter - cup of coffee first, I think.

I think I've gone as far as I can with electric - we were averaging 15kwh a day, cut that to 13 and now often come out at 10 on a no washing day. Gas is another matter - heating has been off a couple of days and two sons don't know how to operate heating controls (not as simple as last house) so it can only get worse.

Gas - 282kwh this week. I know the heating's been on unnecessarily a couple of times - will adjust controls. It's off today but expect it'll be needed sometime this week. Actually, compared to last week, it's better. Last week, we averaged 76 a day; this week it's 40 a day so that's better.

I'm never going to get near Kittie's 33 a week! Even over the summer, we averaged 23 a day. Last week, I started a new chart to average winter use because the heating went on. I thin next summer, my target will be 20 a day but certainly no higher than 23. Winter, I'm not sure. We're using less than we did at the old house but I'm already having run ins with the offspring who 'are freezing' and need the heating on. I feel the cold and have put it on more often than OH would but draw the line at heating the whole house so that my carbon-fiends can wander around wearing their pyjamas all day.

magentasue, I think we got acclimatised so we both feel warm without any heating, A few weeks ago it was hard but little by little it made a difference and last night we were just too warm in bed. I think the difference comes from things like cooking and washing ie I have started washing at cold as I managed to get the new ariel at £1.88.

Re cooking, I do make soups and stews that last 3 days and that must make a big difference. The remoska also makes a big difference eg I did eves pudding yesterday in the grande, with an excellent result and there is enough for 3 days. I haven`t used the oven for a good 5 months now and even make cakes in the remoska

also the ecocamel is a steady saver of gas and water. Re washing up, we stopped using the dw and fill the kettle with the first run off from the boiler, then the hot water from the tap goes into the bowl, topped up with heated water

We use our wind up radios a lot and replaced the (dangerous) dect phone with an os plug in and that only uses batteries

all in all, it is a penny here and a penny there but it adds up to a lot and having a s facing house is good as it warms up when the sun is out

we can`t compare really though as there are only 2 adults now and my dh is `fully trained`and a willing participant. We moved here 3 1/2 years ago and our readings in the old house would have been way way higher

This week we've used 50kw electric and 77kwh gas. That's double summer use on the gas, but needed the heating on a few times. It's been fairly mild here the last few days, so no heating on at the moment :)

I started recording gas and electric usage at imeasure at the end of August, and have just joined the MSE carbon club.

It's interesting seeing how our readings compare to others.

I joined two weeks ago and am 13th in the Carbon Club. Really pleased given there are four of us. Our new insulation is fantastic!

Averaged 9.92 kwh electric per day and 14.66 kwh per day for gas.

Time to update the I-measure readings again :D

    Gas 366 Kwh
    Elec 85 Kwh

and with colder weather forecast, I think our gas consumption will continue to increase :(
I will resign myself to propping up the MSE carbon club.
