I'm busy planning my shop on Saturday with the 500 points on £30 spend. I won some vouchers on Ebay yesterday so I'm hoping theyll be here tomorrow. Thinking of treating myself to a Clinique airbrush concealer (my birthday on Sat so that's my excuse, lol) so I'm interested in the deals they've got at the moment. Never used Clinique before so I'm a bit clueless really. SA said they've got 2 offers 1000 points on any 3 Clinique items or a free gift on 2 items but they must be skincare! Any tips anyone?
You're right, the two items have to be skincare to get the GWP but they really are worth getting as they come in an adorable little bag and you get 3 decentish-sized samples per one. You could get the two skincare items plus the airbrush concealer (which is a good choice if you only want very light coverage/highlighting - the 'all about eyes' concealer is amazing if you want a lot of coverage) and then get your GWP and 1000 points (don't forget total spend ACM as well!)
The best GWPs to get are the 'Dullness' one, all three are fantastic products, and 'pores' with a great product (pore minimising instant perfector) a good product (dramatically different moisturising gel) and an ok product.
As you're a clinique newbie, this is a fantastic, unbiased overview of the range. You'll have to subscribe to the site to see reviews of individual products though.
These are some things to avoid:
    • Dramatically different moisturising lotion - Even though this is wildly popular, it is just a very overpriced, old fashioned moisturiser whose main ingredients are water, mineral oil (a type of vaseline) and other cheap oils.
    • All the clarifying lotions except 'mild' - these are full of alcohol (on the label as 'alcohol denat.' avoid any product with this in) and this irritates the skin and causes free radical damage.
    • All of the 'anti-blemish' products - again, these are full of alcohol and/or witch hazel which is also a skin irritant and this will not help blemishes
    • Any moisturiser/eye moisturiser in a jar - these are a waste of money as the jar will expose all of the most high tech and beneficial ingredients (e.g. antioxidants) to air and they will not last.
Actually eye moisturisers are a waste of money anyway as they charge so much for such a tiny amount, as the skin around the eye is not that much different to the rest of your face, except for its greater sensitivity to fragrance, but all clinique is fragrance free anyway.
    • Bar soaps - these are very expensive for what they are, and all soaps are excessively drying to the skin of the face.
Now it depends on what you're looking for, but here are some good choices from each type of skincare:

    Face wash:
    • Liquid Facial Soap Mild or Extra Mild
    • Comforting Cream Cleanser
    • Redness Solutions Soothing Cleanser
    • Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm or Milk
    • Also, if you have any of the No7 stay perfect eyeliner (prod_thum.jpg) take the day off eye makeup remover is excellent - takes it off straight away with no rubbing!
    Moisturisers:
    • City Block (a little bit tinted but the SPF and antioxidants will keep your skin looking its best)
    • Redness Solutions Daily Protective Base (but this has a green tint which may not be to your taste, it wasn't to mine)
    • Redness Solutions Urgent Relief Cream
    • Continuous Rescue Antioxidant Moisturiser (Pricy, but I use this myself and it's fan-tastic.)
    • Repairwear moisturisers (the ones in bottles, not jars)
    • Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel (a very different formula to the lotion, and much improved)
    Serums:
All the serums are pricey but good, but the best are:
    • Advanced Stop Signs
    • Repairwear Deep Wrinkle Concentrate for Face and Eyes
    • Turnaround Concentrate Visible skin renewer (I use this and it's sort of a cross between a moisturiser and a serum and it's amazing, full of skin beneficial ingredients and perfect for oilier skins, or under a more emollient moisturiser for dryer skins like mine)
    Sun Care:
    • City Block
    • Sun-Care Body SPF 25 Sun Block
    • Sun-Care UV-Response Face Cream SPF 30/50
    • Sun-Care Body Gel SPF 15 Sunscreen
    • Sun-Care UV-Response Body Cream SPF 30/50
    • Sun-Care Lip/Eye SPF 30 Sun Block
I'm so sorry for going on, I've probably given you more information than you ever wanted or expected and I've probably bored everyone silly, but if you need any more help I'm here! :o
;) One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you! ;)

    Hello all.
I have been reading your thread for past 2 weeks now, and oh my god how I can relate to your excitement when we get a bargain!!!
I thought I was alone in my findings... but oh no!!!
Only found this site having searched "boots" on main web site page!!
Anyway I think its absolutely fantastic!!! I have been "bootsing" for a few years now, and have had my share of glitches and freebies!!!
Have also benefited from, some of your finds, thank-you!!!
Just wanted to tell you all about a glitch I discovered.....

Sorry if its already been discovered!!!

Elle McPherson " free gwp when you spend £10 or more on any Elle McPherson products (bathing/skincare/body etc)

HOWEVER thought I'd give it a try with ANY Elle McPherson product, and yep, went through fine!!!! YEAH!!!

Even better, the products ... (yes thats right i did this glitch about 4 times)
that I used to get free GWP were in clearance!!!

    E.g
Bath salt scrub, large jar £2.50
Various body lotions/creams and shower products £2-£3

So got bag with 4 or 5 minis of same make products inside (RRP £10) FREE!!!

Hope you guys manage to try and succeed this one!!!

PS think your all fab, and even though I'm a newbie and this is my first ever post, my thoughts and prayers are with the family that are recently bereaved and the lady recently diagnosed with cancer. God bless you x x

Hi LOULOUNURSE welcome to the forum - you will have a great time on this thread as everyone is so friendly - but its very addictive so dont expect to get a lot of housework done :rotfl:

I will give the Elle glitch a try today so thanks for the tip on that.

Anyway - just wanted to say welcome enjoy bootsing.
    Vickym xx

When I search on Boots website, it just comes up with the 'washing and bathing' page ........... anyone any ideas?
