I've had UCC try and contact me before ... very persistent with calls and texts ... and when I eventually told them I wasn't interested they put the phone down on me!!!

I am more annoyed that they seem to have passed my deatils over to UCC. Anyway waste of a search , still have a good Equifax - but have to be careful with searches otherwise my file will be like Experians...
Have to see if the other poster got his accepted.

I'm surprised they are not calling people to advise ...That's not very good customer service is it ... Sorry to hear you were declined

Bad luck Paul . Well I answered to UCC today , they said they had my contact details from Moneysupermarket.com - I do recall filing a form in for a quote , so maybe it had nothing to do with Tesco . Maybe like you Paul I should call , but I won't and just wait for the rejection letter!
    I will keep you posted.

I contacted UCC after doing a search on Moneysupermarket. (unfortunately I have a 'poor' credit rating)
The reason I chose them was because of the rate advertised on that site.
Now, I was going to consolidate several loans etc, so that I could use the difference in the amount of money I spend now and the amount I would have to buy a car.

A car that is absolutely essential for me to carry on working,
The company I work for has invested in me with quite a bit of training/exams that I have passed each time.

So, when UCC contacted me to say I had been succesful I was happy.
Then they told me it was with Welcome finance, a company I already have a loan with, (a joint loan with my ex-partner) and this was one of the loans I wanted to consolidate.
Not a problem I thought... so went through the details again, and was told twice that I could have a £4,500 loan provisionally, remember that word!
I went through the details, having been told that I had already had a credit search, and then the guy from Welcome was startled to learn that I already had a loan with Welcome, (strange, seeing as they had already done a credit search, and it is there on file!)
So I went through all the details AGAIN, with my local branch of Welcome, whereby they refused my loan.... why? because I had recently applied for a loan... THE SAME BLOODY LOAN!

The moral of this story is...
If you already have a loan, deal with that company first, and dont even bother dealing with companies such as UCC.

Or even better, don't get a loan, spend some time here and sot out your money woes.
very true that often people should practice what they preach ;-)

Similar story too mine , you have . Now because of my 'foolish' moment puting my details into moneysupermarket / a loans website including a telephone number - my phone has rang off the hook for the last week  I have told them I do not require a loan (not desparate) , but then another company calls! I then find Welcome have credit searched me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Complained to Experian about that one.

So be wary about these online ' loan quotes' -
  • I have a poor credit rating and went online to moneysupermarket.com for a loan quote. I clicked on the poor rating tab and was surprised to see a Black Horse logo at the top so i clicked on the link and was taken to a black horse application form. I filled in my details and wa old that i was "provisionally accepeted" and would receivce a call within 2 hours. Thouht that to be a strange reply as i was applying @ 10pm. Putting that down as a standard reply i was surprised to find an email from UCC Loans in my junk folder the next morning. http://www.uccplc.co.uk/ as far as i was aware i was dealing with black horse as the web form had the black horse logo on it. I have since read the forums regarding moneysupermarket.com and UCC on this site and from what i can gather UCC can be quite troublesome.

Is this moneysupermarket.com misleading people with poor ratings into filling in web applications with what looks like a major high street brand when in reality its not even the same company who are offering the loan?

    Has anybody else seen this?
  • Tescos only call you if you have a chance to get the loan, they dont call you if you have been declined. Or they havent in the instances of the few people I know that have tried with them and been told no.
