Angel81uk - I just wanted to thank you too! i used to use screenface ages ago, and I'd totally forgotten... i was just about to splash out on another laura mercier cake eyeliner, and i've just realised that i can just go to Charles Fox and spend around 4 pounds instead - sorted! LOL Big thanks from me!

I love love love finding cheaper alternatives/mixing things up - make up is so much FUN! hehehe

    :D

Screenface is a great shop for make up too. I have catalogues for both Charles Fox and Screenface and as they're pretty close to each other I shop at both to make sure I buy things as cheaply as I can. I've just listed Charles Fox in my post as they generally stock more of the kryolan range and for those buying via mail order any savings you would make by buying a bit from both are wiped out by having to pay two separate delivery charges. But if you're in the area and shopping in person be sure to pop into both shops and have a good look round! The sales assistants are a mine of information too so make sure you pick their brains.
  • This is a great thread! A few months ago, whilst reading the Mail on Sunday's YOU magazine, the beauty writer, Normandie Keith, told of how her mother (whom she has often referred to as a stunningly beautiful, elegant woman) still uses Ponds cold cream cleanser & moisturiser! After reading this, I've been using up all of my old jars of various expensive brands & now have just the one cheap & cheerful product on my shelves. The result is extra money in my purse for splashing out on a lippy if the notion takes me (and if it fits into the budget that month!!)

Gilly- have you used the Ponds cream, and is it good?

I am another fan of olive oil - used as a shower oil, and very small amount occasionally as a face oil at night. Plus mixed with sugar (brown is my preferred sugar) it's a wonderful hand and body exfoliator treat and practically free! I also add a few drops of essential oil (but not when used on face).

Also good is Jojoba oil ;), I got a large bottle cheaply from the Net. It's not strictly an oil at all, it's a wax which is liquid at room temperature - and what is particularly money saving is that it doesn't go rancid. It's a very light texture and particularly good for mature skins especially when mixed with a few drops of Frankincense essential oil.

I meant to post about this the other day but I forgot. I recently discovered Boots own brand heat protection spray, I can't remember the exact price but it's less than £2 for a huge bottle. It's really good if you straighten your hair every day like me.

Being a Liz Earle girl i was interested in previous posts regarding bnatural. Bought it last week from Tescos and its GREAT!! Couldnt get any cloths there, using my old Liz Earle ones. The thing is, my hubby (aged 62) is using it because he says he can see a difference in my skin. LOL. At this price I dont really mind, and he's never used a facial cleanser before.

Thanks Diane. Did you get their new one- the Organic Cream Cleanser, or the one that's going to be discontinued- the Skin Brightening Cleanser?
