My partner unfortunately 'gained' a ccj when out of work a few years ago. We are trying to find a bank that would allow her to open an account - savings or similar? Any suggestions please.

Welcome to MSE steve
Can I suggest you email webmaster@moneysavingexpert.com to change your user name from your email address as sadly it does happen even here that spammers will pick up on your email address and add you to their lists.
If you email Webbie he will change this for you

If you try using the search facility you will find lots of suggestions from previous similar threads. I remember one where the Co-Op was mentioned quite favourably but one CCJ should not pose too great a problem for you. Best of luck.0
