MoneySaving Poem 20th Jan 08 at 11:39 PM
A site user emailed us this week with a great poem about Martin and the site. Have a read and a laugh

Dear Martin, I just wanted to write and say,
a big thankyou for your financial help every day,
i first saw you on gmtv 2006,
fighting against bank charges of which i was sick!
i filled in your forms and wrote to hsbc,
It took only one week and they wanted to refund me!
They sent me an offer of nearly two thousand pound,
and at only the cost of a stamp i found.

The next time I saw you with Lorraine on tv,
You said we paid too much for our mortgage exit fee.
I wrote to them immediately to see if you were right,
Within 3 days a cheque for £75 without a fight!

I registered on your website to receive your weekly email,
I thought your financial advice now couldnt fail !
I set up a spreadsheet and logged my amounts,
My bills, my costs, my spending, my accounts.

I changed my energy supplier and now its online,
I have made further savings and its greener i find.

In 2007 you were against PPI,
so I dug out old paperwork to see if it applied.
I wrote to my bank and my credit cards too
I soon received an offer of £2310.72!

Others were not as accepting and gave me a no,
so i took your advice, to the ombudsman i go.
It may take a while, a stamp and a letter,
I will be patient and they may offer me better.

Ive set up my Christmas fund for 2008
I wont use my credit card, I wont be shopping late !
Ive done what you said and moved my credit card debt,
to 0% interest which is what i now get!

Late credit card charges, is still on my list to do,
but it shouldnt take long, with your website forms and advice to.
My new years resolution is to sort my debt out,
to spend more wisely and be richer no doubt.

If it wasnt for you, lovely Martin, my hero
I'd be struggling still and my bank balance zero

The banks may hate you and want you to stop
Just remember all the people who think you are top!

So thankyou so much for your passion and fight
No other man on the planet would i say is ALWAYS RIGHT !
