Have also posted this in OS so apologies if you have read it already just wasn't sure where to put it.
Hi all,
Have just booked the room for DS1's birthday bash (free of course) and for his party we want to do a spiderman themed cake he will have about 30 kids there made up of family and friends have just about sorted everything else but thinking of the cake.
His party will have a spiderman theme and I have made cakes before using advice from here for example I made my stepdaughter a princess cake with a barbie in the centre with the cake resembling her skirt was a great sucess and looked fab have also done a caterpillar cake for a friend and that too turned out well.
So my challenge would be a spiderman cake obviously as budget tight as possible and also it would have to feed all the guests any one done this or have any good ideas for it something like this as a basic idea but also open to other ideas.
http://www.cakedesigners.co.uk/ its in the novelty section.
I have plastic spiderman figures if I could use them in any way I need an idiots guide when baking as I cannot cook with no receipe's
Thanks in advance

you could always make a cake and use wafers to resemble buildings once covered with butter icing - made a castle one for a friends little girl and when they covered looks good! then could put your little spider man figurs on it. or make his face or just the spider on a round one. If worried wont feed everyone you could always make small mini cakes in cases and ice with runny white icing (cant think of the name!) and get black icing tubes to make cobwebshapes, and red and blue to do little blobs with legs to look like spiders. that way there would be enough to go around?:heart2:Married my Prince Charming on 15th April 2011 - perfect day!
Our little princess born 8th June - she is amazing!! :grinheart

Following on curly's idea, you can do cupcakes, make sure they are flat on top and cover in red icing. Then draw black concentric circles on the top with the writing icing. You then use a cocktail stick to drag from the middle out to the edge. It'll drag the black out and it looks like a web. Then sit your figures on top maybe, if you've got enough.
I made these at halloween only in black and white not red, they were very popular. I'll have a look for a picture for you...."The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too."- Samuel Butler0 -

If you made them red instead of orange they'll be more spiderman and less halloween."The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too."- Samuel Butler0
