Body-worn cameras to be compulsory for bailiffs

Body-worn cameras are to be compulsory for bailiffs under government plans to improve the treatment of people in debt.
The Ministry of Justice said the move, which only affects England and Wales, should help protect those in debt from "intimidation and aggression" used by some bailiffs.
But Citizens Advice said the cameras would do "nothing" to protect people.

Surely there would have to be consequences to carrying out a job and not wearing a working camera.Aiming to make £7,500 online in 20220

or some 3rd party, not enough information really as to how this will be policed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Without an effective and robust system of independent audit and monitoring of the footage this will achieve absolutely nothing.0

The Marstons bailiffs that I have spoken to, already wear bodycams...I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

Make it that if someone complains to the body being set up to deal with this then the footage available must prove otherwise or the finding is always for the complainant and include in the penalty quite high automatic compensation for the victim - wouldn't be too many deliberately not working cameras then, the bailiff is not going to know in advance if they are visiting a likely complainer and the companies they work for wont like paying out hefty compensation on top of any other penalty they face.0 -

I am out of the loop with CCTV requirements now, but I know that in the past there were consequences for bars that were not able to provide proper footage when it was needed.Aiming to make £7,500 online in 20220 -
Not read the article or legislation, but one would hope it specifies cameras had to be fully working and operating and impose a period when recorded footage had to be available to.
Fortunately we have competent politicians in this country..May you find your sister soon Helli.

Until there is an independent regulatory authority the bailiff organisations will continue to work around this0
