Almost free train travel in Scotland - weekend
https://www.scotrail.co.uk/about-scotrail/news/we-are-sorry
So if you have a valid season ticket on any of the affected routes you and a companion can travel free on any Scotrail service in the country on the remaining weekends of this offer, namely
Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April 2019
Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May 2019
It's certainly against the spirit of the offer, but if you were to purchase say a weekly season pass for between Musselburgh & Wallyford (£11.80) or Gartcosh & Stepps (£11.40) my interpretation is that this would meet the free travel criterion.
You'll need a ScotRail photocard or photo Smartcard to be able to buy a season ticket.
