This is an !!!8220;over the garden fence!!!8221; type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It!!!8217;s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we!!!8217;re going to do today or what we!!!8217;ve achieved already. Everyone!!!8217;s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn!!!8217;t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don!!!8217;t post large pictures, or clip art !!!8211; links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don!!!8217;t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

    Morning everyone

I had a lovely day yesterday and we finally got home at 10.00pm. We had a lovely lunch overlooking a harbour and as the forecast is good for next week we are going to go back one day. I am trying to make the most of days at the seaside before the schools break up and it gets really busy.

Today I’m having my hair coloured first thing and then will go and do a bit of shopping in the town. It is my niece’s birthday soon and I need to start looking for a suitable present. I always have trouble trying to find something for her. I broke my favourite mug yesterday and need to go into Debenhams to get another one.

I have stripped the bed and have got that in the washing machine, other than that I am still putting off doing much housework as long as the weather is so good.

Gers sorry to hear about your mum but she is in the best place, and at least she is getting treatment now. Make sure to take care of yourself though.

TA I hope that you enjoyed your ‘girls’ night out.

Good to see you post Cranky.

Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing.

    Morning everyone

BTDT - thanks for starting us off x

Hugs to those that want/need one x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

Sun shining and warm already. I'll find enough to make up a wash load ad get it pegged on the line.

DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit, will wake him shortly.

Dinner last night was pork steaks braised in gravy, mash, peas/veg. Not sure what we'll be having tonight but need to do some food shopping today so will be organising that later. I have the normal trek to town to visit the bank and building society, then the local cheap chemist for last minute bits for our hols.

I'll be ironing and packing too, I have the usual "to do" list.

Yesterday work was busy again, at times it felt like I was the only one as the calls were stacked and didn't appear to get any less as I answered them! It's completely clear that those in charge aren't really bothered as there's a new management structure in place and that manager hasn't been to any of our locations to meet the staff, most of us wouldn't know who they were if they walked past us! We're just being left to get on with it - so I'm more than pleased that I'm now on annual leave for 2 weeks! Hoping by the time I get back the situation is under control but I doubt it.

    Keep safe and well x

Good morning and thank you for starting the thread BTDT.

Holly that does sound a lively day.

Gers, best wishes for your mum.

I slept better last night, it was a bit cooler so although I woke several times, I managed to get back to sleep until 5, which is a lie in for me.

It was quite cloudy when I got up but the clouds are dissipating now and we'll have another hot and sunny day. What a change from last summer, I hope that it will still be warm and sunny when the schools break up.

As ever I have stuff to do but all mind-bogglingly boring so will not go into detail, just wishing everyone a good day.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

Good morning, and thanks for starting off, Btdt.
It's a pleasant morning here, yesterday turned out hot and sunny after a grey start.

Glad you had a nice day out Holly.
Hope you enjoyed your night out TA.

We just pottered yesterday, Dh went over to the caravan to make a minor repair, and I did the usual stuff here. Today it's his birthday, not doing much, but we'll go out tomorrow for the day.

I'm all aches and pains this morning - tablets that I have to take long term aggravate my already arthritic joints. Later on I'll have loosened up a bit.

That's it folks - hope you all have a good day. take care all.

    Morning All

Hope your Mum is resting and getting the care she needs Gers. Take care of yourself, especially driving up and down to Glasgow.

Your seaside trips sound just the thing for you Holly.

I was at the seaside yesterday too, DD and I took the bikes to Cumbrae (known locally as Millport) and cycled round. My visitors took their car over so we met up with them for a picnic lunch and a swim in the sea. It was mighty cold until you got used to it but I felt very refreshed when I came out!

Called at the allotment on the way home and DD picked her dinner - an onion, some peas, beans, spinach and a baby courgette. I think all my watering is paying off!

Not sure what's happening today, visitors are still sleeping but it's a bit cloudy here so probably no sea or loch swimming today. Washing is up to date but the house is looking a little untidy, I'll wait until the visitors leave tomorrow before I have a tidy.

Hope you are all well, have a good day and take care. XX

Good morning folks. A scorcher here too. Have just had to shut the blind again the sun was blinding me.

Two phone calls yesterday morning upset me for the day. The surgery with a message that Dr R had decided to refer Mr TA fast-track to the Gastroenterologist as she was really worried about his drastic weight loss.. Ten minutes later another call from the doctor herself. She had got the blood results from Tuesday, showing Mr TA is drastically anaemic and another result she was worried about. She wanted them repeating, this time at the hospital, if we could collect a form en route. I went in panic mode as I am living like a coiled spring as it is. DD took us on to the hospital and now I am fully expecting further bad news this morning when she gets yesterday's results back.

The shopping did get done eventually, later than planned. DD wanted to call in at Aldi on the way home so I went in with her and threw a load of stuff in a trolley. My list was at home but I think I got most of what I wanted.

I didn't feel a bit sociable after the upsetting day and really didn't want to go out last night. Mr TA said I had to, I needed a break. So taxi booked, picking 2 of the girls up on the way to the carvery and met the other 2 there. After a large wine I did relax a bit and it was nice to have someone to offload my worries to. A lovely meal as always, with further wine, and it was fairly quiet. Lots of windows open so didn't feel as oppressive as we expected.

This afternoon I am supposed to be going with DD to a school concert, with the two younger DGDs singing. A phone call might change that plan. Then they should all be back here to sleep before tomorrow's school run. DD said I have enough on just now and her BF is taking them to school tomorrow. All being well though they are coming here after swimming for tea as they were distraught that they would be missing Grandma's awesome Bolognese Bake! Will delay making that a while in case plans have to change.

Gosh I have waffled on a bit, sorry. Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) where wanted/needed. Well done to the HT CRANKY and better news re your mum GERS, Still no SILVER-OLDIE has anyone heard from her? Hope all is ok. Take care all xx

    Morning All,

TA Thinking of you and Mr TA . At least the doctor is trying to sort things out for you.

Another hot sunny day here. I wished I lived by the sea though.

Happy 70th Birthday to the NHS.

TA, I hope you have better news today.
Gers, I'm glad DM is getting treatment.

I'm still half asleep because I didn't sleep well last night and Ziggy woke me early and then I got a leg cramp so probably didn't drink enough yesterday.

I was about take the pup out last night when I discovered the garden gate wide open and no pup in sight. Cue me racing around the estate like a mad woman. I eventually came across her with a couple who had found her lying in the road (luckily a quiet cul-de-sac). I'd gone the way we normally walk her but she'd gone the other way of course. The couple had rung the number on her tag but of course it was DD's who was in the air en-route to the Seychelles. I must get another tag made for her with our number on it.

Anyway DD has just landed I'm hoping she will have a relaxing holiday because see needs it but she let me know her DH had heard from his mum just as they were boarding that his gran is very ill so I@m half expecting to hear that they are returning.
