Recently went to Liverpool just before 8.45am from Leeds and it was horrendously busy. Had to stand nearly all the way. I know it is the rush hour but pretty bad really.
Does anyone know of any quieter services during the day both to and from Liverpool from Leeds, with plenty of seats and a more relaxed feel?

Surely it's a simple matter of avoiding rush hour (or hours), so probably any train between 10 and 3 will be quieter than one before or after those times - although if the trains are a lot less frequent then they may still be busy.
Alternatively, buy a 1st class ticket.0 -
Leeds via Bradford Interchange, change at Manchester Victoria will be quieter, but it takes 45-60 minutes longer.0
