    Pusser's Rum 6th Dec 17 at 10:47 AM
Not sure whether this is the correct section but any advice appreciated.
I've found a bottle of Pusser's Rum which was opened several years ago but is 95% full, will it still be fit to consume?
Seems a shame to pour it away. :-)

My parents weren't "drinkers" but had a "booze cupboard" for Christmas etc., mostly for visitors. (IIRC my dad only really liked Advocaat.)
I remember opened bottles being carted around the world on moves - one I distinctly recall was bright blue.
The only thing that didn't last long were the cocktail cherries.

Spirits like Rum will be fine for some time - as long as they aren't kept somewhere exposed to sunlight.

I'm going to give it to my neighbour as he 'likes a drink' just didn't want to poison him. :-)

I wonder if I'm your neighbour?

If you're interested, here's how the navy used to test the potency of rum way back when.

    Hi,
You could use all or some of it to soak some fruit to make a cake. It's quite tasty!
