Luncheon Vouchers on Self Scan

Hello!
Each year I am given luncheon vouchers through work which I save up to deduct from my xmas shop (usually about £129 worth)
Up until last year I lived in London and my local “big Tesco” was a bit out of the way So was never busy. We used to be able to go through very early in the morning and not hold anyone up while they scan through 100 odd vouchers.
Last year however I moved to Essex and there was a horrible experience where the cashier essentially accused me of fraud, walked off to speak to managers several times and we ended up holding up an entire queue on one of the few tills that were open for nearly half an hour. It was so embarrassing.
Anyway, I was wondering if anybody has any experience of using these vouchers through scan as you shop at Tesco? It would be so much less embarrassing to just scan them through ourselves without someone questioning the vouchers, where they’re from or the value and not holding up a whole queue!
Any advice welcomed!
