Bike libraries.

I've just been watching Countryfile on C3, they were in Yorkshire and touring by bike.
Ben Fogle went to a place and he was able to borrow a bike for free. That's a good idea to try and get people to return to cycling, do other places have bike libraries. In Liverpool we havesomething similar to the Boris bikes were you need to put your pound in the slot.
The guy who was showing Ben where to go for a decent ride, took him to The Buttress a cobbled hill about 300yds long and with a gradient of 1 in 4. He said the record to get up there was less than 3mins.
I think i'll stick to going around the local park.

Sounds good as long as the bikes are maintained in between users.

Lots of different schemes it seems, some you have to join first and learn how to maintain a bike, another was for children of a particular school only.

You need to do your homework to see who/what schemes are in the area your planning on visiting or area you live maybe?
