Splitting a Referral Bonus

Hi All,
I recently referred someone to the company I work for and I am now due a referral bonus. To be honest I didn't think I was eligible to get it but the person whom I referred has pushed the matter as a thank you for referring me.
I want to split my bonus with this person as they did 95% of the work throughout the process and I was wondering is a simple 50:50 split after tax fair? I know I don't have to give anything but I want to make sure I don't cause offence by offering an unreasonable amount.

You don't have to give anything, they have got the job they wanted,
I'd see 50/50 as very generous.
I think it depends a bit on the size of the bonus, but I think 10-25% would be perfectly reasonable and fair, if you want to give them something.
(do check your staff handbook. I can't imagine splitting your bonus would contravene it but it may be as well to check, first)All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
That is how recruitment bonus work, you recommend, the person and the company do the work.
You get your bonus.
If it turn out they are not so good future recommendations might be ignored.0
