This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Morning
Well guess who's up again at at stupidly early o clock *sighs*.
Just put the kettle on and am posting this whilst it boils.
Nothing of interest to report, I need to go food shopping today but it may be postponed until tomorrow, I will see how tired I am later.
Hester or should I say Master Helmswoman Hester, glad the course went well with no extra charge for the added excitement or aiding and abetting the local constabulary
Right kettle is boiled and I need a fortifying cup of Rosie Lee.
Have a good day and take care allx

Morning all
It looks sunny so far, I'm off to work with, hopefully no police chases today.
I have a certificate, so I must be a proper helmswoman now!!
Nelski, I hope you are coping ok, hugs to anyone in need.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning all, I woke up to go to the loo and then couldn't get back to sleep so have been up since 4.
Work today and tomorrow, how I thought I wasn't working tomorrow is a mystery. This is why I'm hoping to change my work pattern so that I do the same days each week, 3 days a week rather than 7 spread over two weeks.
It looks as though it will be a sunny day, I've washing ready to go out.
Hope everyone is ok, and that you all have a good dayI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning everyone
karcher - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Blue sky and sun breaking through, already warm, washing ready to go out on the line. I'll water the plants then too. Yesterday was a glorious day once the sun appeared at 9am ish, today looks very much the same.
DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit, will wake him shortly.
Dinner last night was an easy fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg, ice cream for dessert, tonight we'll be having pork steaks in gravy, potatoes and veg.
Work yesterday was busy in the morning but then did slow down in the afternoon, but I had a couple of difficult/sad cases but I did the best I could in the situation. Working all day again today, this afternoon is the extra hours, when I finish this afternoon I'm on days' off until next Monday, and we're going away on Friday until Sunday, not too far and with good friends, which we're both really looking forward to.
Keep safe and well x

Morning everyone.
The sky looks brighter than it has for a week though showers are in the air.
I've off to Oban for two three hour meetings which is not good. I teach two hours a week on two courses yet the meetings take three hours...
That'll be my day. I hope everyone has a peaceful and happy Wednesday.0 -
Morning All
It has been raining but it's given up for now - can't be much left up there!
Nothing much happening here, no swimming this morning. I'm going to visit a friend after work, she should have here DGS with her which is always a laugh.
Well done HH, hope you gave those handcuffs back.
Thinking of you Nelski.
Have a good day, take care. XX0 -
Morning everyone,
Thank you for starting us off karcher
Hugs to those that are unwell or having a difficult time at the moment.
I had a nice trip out yesterday to a local market town to meet my sister in law. I bought my niece a gift for her 21st birthday and then we had a wander around the shops and I got a couple of gifts for friends that have birthdays this month. I am pleased to have got those sorted.
Yesterday was a lovely warm day and quite sunny although it did cloud over towards the mid-afternoon. The forecast is good for the rest of the week, I do hope they are right.
I am off for my first ever Aldi shop later. I haven’t been able to shop there before because it is over 2 miles and although I am comfortable walking that far I could never have carried the shopping home, and there is no direct bus so it hasn’t really been practical. I am looking forward to being able to get things a lot cheaper than I have been paying.
I need to go and get something for dinner tonight out of the freezer to defrost.
I hope that you all have a good day whatever you are doing.0 -
Morning all
Night bright sunny day here, back to work for me but a nice short week this week :j

I had a good shop at Aldi yesterday I must say I love having one so near, I did a big shop but it was so much cheaper than elsewhere, I got several bottles of wine this time too there wine is supposed to be good too
I shall try one at the weekend
Right I had better get on have good days all xx0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
It's a beautiful sunny morning here today. I am up and dressed as I am off to a new weight watchers meeting that is opening today. I didn't really enjoy slimming world so I am going to try this. I am in a good frame of mind to keep dieting as I tried on a pair of jeans in a smaller size to see how far I had to go to get them on and they actually fit.
DD14 is going to school today hooray, I hope she has a good day. I am going to the school tomorrow for a meeting which I am actually dreading but it needs to happen. DD16 has finished school so I will try and mark the occasion somehow. It's a bit hard to think of treating her though as she has been extremely difficult to live with for a while now. I've cut her a lot of slack as she has been doing her exams but honestly her behaviour has been vile . Good job I love her.
I got bored yesterday so I took DD14 out on the bus to Appledore to get a bit of fresh air. We sat on the quay with an ice cream whilst people watching. It was really lovely to sit in the sunshine looking over the water. I wish we could have taken Max with us but he gets terribly travel sick in a car and I didn't want to risk it on the bus.
I'm making chicken skewers for tea as I accidently left a pack of chicken out to defrost yesterday when I was looking for something else. Oh well, I'm sure they will be nice. I will do some baked potatoes and salad to go with them.
Well that's all my waffle for now, hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Dumpling you are doing brilliantly with your diet ,well done for dropping a size .hope today goes just as well for you honey
good morning chums and another beautiful day here today.bright and sunny, just how I like it and not too hot.
This morning I have my youngest DD popping in after her physio for a cuppa then we will whizz down to Faversham as I want to have a chat to the garage about my delivery date for my new car, and if we have time nip in and see my sis-in-law. This afternoon I have an AGM at U3A which should be interesting to see who gets voted on the committee this year as our president is retiring.
Came 3rd in quiz last night but had a great night all the same, our team have a visiting quiz night on Friday at a local sports centre. We like to go out now and again from the pub, and this one is for a local charity group,we always enjoy those.
Two more exams for our 'enry today ,then one on Friday and he is done:):)
Right must get the kettle on I'm dying for a cuppa
have a good day everyone what ever you are doing
JackieO xx0
