Hello all,
My mother lives in Spain and needs to get a mortgage. She owns a property here in the UK but its LET while she lives abroad.
For her to get a mortgage she needs to be on an electoral roll and she has asked me if its okay to add her to my address.
Is this illegal or can I add her to my address?
Many thanks
Ade

It would be fraud, since she'd be lying to the mortgage company. Of course, odds of her being caught might be quite low but even so .....
It might also cause all sorts of taxation issues if she became a UK resident. Is she paying tax on her rent? has she provided a UK address for her tenants to contact her? Protected the deposit?
Its the electoral "roll" BTW.0 -
Thank you. That was the answer I needed. Thanks for the correction! BTW0
