stuck in overdraft

I will try and be brief but I'm.in a very big mess with my finances. I am £800 overdrawn and just can't seem to get out of it. I work full time although on a zero hour contract however hours stay generally the same. I have 3 kids and am married DH also works full time. I believe half the trouble im struggling is due to my car , I have spent a lot on it for repairs but I don't finish paying for it until Feb. I need it for work.as I am a home carer and can make up to 20 visits a day , my car is draining my petrol I'm putting 10 pounds a day in easily and I believe this is where most of the money is going. I only receive woo pounds a month petrol allowance. If I don't have a car I can't work and it's draining me. I'm.not sleeping at night as I keep having nightmares about my car drowning my bank. I'm not sure I can part exchange it either as it's been bashed about a bit and not got a good service history. Any advise would be greatly appreciated . TIA

Hi,
Surely this is something you should bring to the attention of your employer ?
If your petrol allowance does not cover the work you are expected to do, then you need to speak to them about it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Is there not a minimum of 45p?0 -
no its 22p from employer and HMRC top up the rest but goes against tax code so don't actually see the money. so I'm basically spending out nearly 200 a month of my own money to run the car. we cant really cut back any further. we shop at aldi, never go out anywhere my kids hardly get anything new.0

Hi, I'm sorry I can't add a lot but I feel for you. Keep an eye on the job paper and online for reputable employers like the council (they usually link to their jobs from their websites and they don't always advertise in the paper) and charities/ not for profit companies so you can get out of that post to something with guaranteed hours and residential or proper travel pay.
If your experience is elderly care don't limit yourself to this - look at learning disabilities, vulnerable people, family support and children too - the same qualities are needed.
If your kids are at school and your husband works days perhaps you could consider nights? If you 're lucky nights are enhanced pay for unsociable hours.

You might ask a dealer about this - the worst they can say is no, and then you would be sure. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Hi
How many miles are you doing each day to use £10 of petrol? Is your boot full of junk? If so remove it as it's extra unnecessary weight.
Also check you are actually receiving the correct adjustment of your tax code. If you're not, you will be able to claim a refund from HMRC.0 -
Ok you have a gas guzzler
You need a car for work
You are still paying the car off
So you need to see where the cuts can be made till the car can be changed
Most of us cut the fat on phones, tv, food, and having a life ( although we still have a life, without the sleepless nights eventually )
Do a SOA. Be as honest as you can with it and the good people here will help you find the money somehow to get out of the overdraft , and make a few savings
Between this board and the good peeps on oldstyle, we will having you living on fresh air and water and back in the black by this time next year, or even Easter0
