Letter asking me to get in touch

Help needed.
I have received a letter today asking for the person it is addressed to too get in touch.
After Googling the company name it is a debt recovery company.
I had this a couple of years ago and sent statute barred letter but this is a new company and I have not had any credit of any kind in over twelve years.
The only way to find out what they are after is to contact them but I want to contact them in case I cause myself some issues of old.
The letter is only asking for the addressee to get in touch and doesn't give any details of a bent they maybe chasing.
Has anyone got any advice to the best course of action.
It has been over 15yrs since I had any debt I owed.
TIA.

if it was me i would put it in the bin . if you say yes thats me you could open up a can of old worms0

Is it possible this new company could have bought old debts and then try to collect?
I can't send a statute barred letter without knowing what they maybe referring it to and I don't want to contact them without knowing what they are chasing.
Like I've mentioned I have had no loans,credit card,hp etc... in over 12-14yrs.0 -
Bin it.............
If you havent had any contact then any debt that it says is unenforceable anyway, like I say, bin it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Thanks for the help all.
What's the best course of action if I keep receiving these letters? It's the first out of the blue from thelewisgroup.0 -
Just continue to put them in the bin.0

Another option is to send the prove it letter to confirm the alledged debt is the one you think it is. Then follow up with the statute barred letter.0

If they think they have a good match they will follow up in a week or so with a demand and more details (account number, sum owed etc).
If not, you won't hear any more.
I would ignore it unless you get a follow up letter. If you do, it will either not be your problem or it will be your SB account.BSC No 248
