South West Trains - Compensation for Annual Season Ticket Holder

Afternoon all
Last week saw a terrible day on the SWT network to and from Waterloo, with trains grinding to a halt after a dusting of snow.
Compensation is being paid for most tickets that day: https://www.southwesttrains.co.uk/compensation.aspx
My question is: Someone told me that any compensation due would be deducted from my season ticket cost when I come to renew next year. Is this the case please, or do I have to claim for each individual delay?
Thanks.

You have to claim per delay and then you can use the resulting vouchers to get money off your season ticket.0

I just renewed my first ever annual season and the ticket clerk was able to tell me 1.5 days compensation were due and deduct it automatically from the cost of the new ticket.
Previously when I used to buy a ticket every month I waited an extra month after expiry in case any extra void days were added to the system retrospectively then handed over the ticket for a refund. This was always paid in cash, not vouchers, even though I paid for the original ticket with a credit card.
Bear in mind that compensation is not due when you are delayed by a single incident, but when the entire service is so badly disrupted in a half-day period that they declare it void rather than have it included in the punctuality statistics. South West Trains are one of the last TOCs to still use this system I think.

Christmas day is a 'void' day, surely
If I buy a one week ticket covering 25th, anyone know how I claim my refund for that?0 -
There is no refund for December 25th, if you purchase a ticket for a day that you know you can't use it then I'm afraid that is your own fault.Employee of a National Rail train company.0
