er... have you tried watching tv or reading the newspaper?0 -
Sorry never thought of that.
They can advertise their services as much as they like with headline grabbing low rates but the reality is they are not prepared to put their hands in their pockets in many cases unless you have a perfect credit file.
I was hoping fora more constructive reply from people with recent borrowing experiences....0 -
This will be a good thread.0

Hope so.
Let me get the ball rolling.
I consider myself to have a good credit history which I check regularly with al three CRAs and good affordability although currently with a high credit card exposure which is under control.
Turned down flat by HSBC who I with bank with.
Overdraft and credit card reduced to nominal limits by Nationwide who I also bank with. (and who are currently doing a lot of advertising!) so figure its not even worth applying to them for a loan
Wife in a similar situation turned down flat by Zopa0 -
I can understand why you feel that the first response, and indeed the following one, are not very helpful. It seems to me that some people are more interested in a 'clever' reply than a helpful one.
As for your question, I'm not really in a position to help as I've not had any recent experience of applying for a loan, sorry. But I do hope you will start to get some more considered replies soon.0 -
All the banks are lending - but one must meet their strict lending lending criteriaI owe £3233 @ 0%0

Right;
How much do you earn?
What is your current debt?
What are your crdit limits (carda and overdraft)?
Repeat for the missus.0 -
so despite your post, you had even less to add than the replies you refer to?I can understand why you feel that the first response, and indeed the following one, are not very helpful. It seems to me that some people are more interested in a 'clever' reply than a helpful one.

To get a considered reply, you must ask a considered question.
Seriously, What lenders are lending? the clue is on the name, or they wouldn't be lenders.
The thread is slowly opening up, we now have a little pertinent information from the OP, we still need more to help which dabooka is trying to weasle out.0 -
This will be a good thread. The thread is slowly opening up....
I agree, this thread has future Hall of Famer written all over it. It's a slow burner for sure, but so is The Shawshank Redemption, and I think this will be worth putting in the hours.
We haven't even touched on reasons for the loan, undisclosed financial histories, new characters to be introduced in episode 5 and other !!!!!! moments.0 -
