Golf equipment website, dodgy "www.bestcheapgolf.co.uk"?

Found a website selling golf equipment for resonable lower prices, and I'm struggling to pull up any information/history on it. I tried pulling a domain registry search but was unable to aquire any useful information, has anyone here used it before or can find anything more out about it?

.. as I'm considering making a large purchase.

Much appreciated.

It's a Chinese website which means that everything for sale will be counterfeit.

The website was registered two months ago. The Domain Registration has a Hong Kong address on it.

The website uses Chinese script instead of £ signs. There's no address or phone number, that I can find, anywhere on the website. They accept Western Union payments.

Even if you do receive your purchases you'll have to pay VAT at 20%, the Royal Mail handling charge of £8 plus, possibly, import duty. To put that into context the website is selling a Titleist 910 D3 driver for 168.99. Now assuming that figure is in pounds sterling you would have to pay £33.80 for VAT plus £8 to the Royal Mail. Total cost £210.79. I've just had a quick look on Google Shopping and the lowest price I can find from a reputable British retailer is £229.99 including delivery from Golf 247.

Ok, twenty quid more expensive but it's very unlikely to be a badly designed fake. Plus of course, if you don't like it you can send it back under the Distance Selling Regulations.
  • Any recommendations other than the above as to where to buy golf clubs? I'm specifically looking for a taylormade R11. I know people say eBay but I'd rather purchase online from a legitimate website.

Well I've had a good look around the net and, to be quite honest, once I eliminated the Chinese and American websites, the British sites either with no contact address on them or Domain Registrations where they claimed to be non-trading individuals there wasn't much left to choose from with very little variation in price. What sites I could find which appeared to be reputable, the price came in around the £290 mark.

American Golf have your driver for £289 including delivery. They have a number of shops around the country and there might be one near you if you'd prefer to buy in person.

Golfonline charge £290 but if you buy via Quidco you can get an extra 5% discount. If you're not already a member of Quidco you'll have to pay £5 membership which is taken from your first lot of discount. So bear that in mind.

I couldn't find any discount codes for either of these sites.
