Purely Creative win..should I bother?

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section but I'm new to this! I 'won' 7 days in a self-catering appartment in either Spain, Tenerife or Portugal (I have been given 5 resorts to choose from). I have to therefore pay for flights, transfers etc.. I'm sceptical but I have had a few £10 wins from Purely Creative and althought it's a bit of a hassle claiming by post, in the end I've always received the cheques in the post... I just wondered if anyone out there has ever won a holiday through Purely Creative and if so, what their experience was...any advice appreciated, thanks. Lisa:cool:

How did you win it?? Was it online or a Scratchcard or similar?
There are some not very good Google reports...
A huge thank you :kisses2: to all ones who take the time to post these competitions. I always seem to find them way after someone else does and is too late to post. :rotfl:
    Thank you.

  • Thanks for all your replies, I really appreciate it. I don't have the list off resorts to hand but the 2 in Portugal were in The Algarve and the one which had the most decent reviews on TripAdviser was called 'Oura Beach Club' (formelry Montechoro Beach Club). The competition was a Purely Creative scratch card promotion. I haven't phoned the telephone number to find out more yet but I will ask them if I have to pay a deposit or admin fee and if I am restricted as to when I can go (the voucher does say it's valid until July 2012..

  • thanks so much BigSister. The resort in Tenerife is called 'Royal Park Albatros' in Golf Del Sur. Out of all of the resorts this one had the least favourable review but this was mainly down to them not having air conditioning (the bloke said they have fans though). I don't think it's near the coast as it says in the blurb 'centrally located'. Actually I phoned the telephone number to get more info and there are no hidden charges. The only thing I have to do when I book is pay a £50 deposit to secure the appartment and this is fully refundable when we arrive (in the form of 60 euros which must be spent within the resort). I was sceptical at first but the bloke did put my mind a rest. I asked if I would be subjected to a timeshare sales pitch and he laughed and said on one of the mornings one of the reps wuld treat us to breakfast and talk to us about the holiday and future holiday offers, but that there was absolutely NO obligation to do anything apart from enjoy our holiday! He's going to let me think about it and I can book it anytime within the next few months..

golf del sur is quiet but a nice area - very close to airport but not on the beach - but there is a big plaza with shops, bars and restaurants - let us know what you decide
