MAP Allowance - Pretemps

Hi
I'm hoping someone can help. I have just started a job through agency Pertemps and have signed up to MAP Allowance (mobile advantage plan - which is an allowance towards travel and meals). The problem is I have tried to explain my new income to WFTC but they have never heard of MAP, even though the Inland Revenue are supposed to recognise this benefit.
Can anyone help me with information I can provide to WFTC so that they can finalise my claim before 31st July.
Thanks
Wanda

just treat it as gross income.
You will be paid the hours you work x hourly rate.
Then the agency will deduct some of that and pay it to you as MAP, which isn't taxable.
They agency will probably take an 'admin' fee from that for doing this, which won't be itemised on your payslip. You end up with more money as you pay less tax, providing you're a basic rate taxpayer.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Are you refering to them as MAPs maybe dumb it down for them and say mileage allowance payments whch create no benefit in kind.

Thank you both for replies, which are very helpful. I can now work out what my wage slip means (and the "missing" £5.00 - which must be the admin charge!). I can confidently contact WFTC now that I know what I'm talking about!

Yes, if you multiply the number of temps x the number of weeks x the fivers a week you end up with a nice bit of extra profit for the agency.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
