Train2Game / Barclaycard crap :(

Hi there, I could REALLY do with some advice on this matter if possible PLEASE.

My boyfriend got a letter recently from Barclaycard stating he had taken out a £5,000 loan, and it has all his details on it, and payment dates etc... except he DIDN'T take out this loan.

The loan was taken out on behalf of my boyfriend, by a German company whose name I cannot remember.

After googling this company, we found out that they are a part of Train 2 Game. My boyfriend was interested in doing a course with them, and had to pay them a £100 cheque. He decided the following day, after finding out his dad has cancer, that this wasn't the right time for him to do this, so he cancelled his cheque and called Train 2 Game to cancel his agreement with them, this was within the 14 days prescribed. He phoned them up, and he asked "Is that OK, is it cancelled now?, is there anything else I need to do?" the adviser at T2G said it was cancelled, and nothing else needed to be done.

Before we knew this, we told Barclaycard this was fraudulent, as we had no idea who the company were etc. Barclaycard are saying this isn't a fraudulent loan.

We are unsure what to do from here?

My boyfriend never received £5,000, NOR did he receive ANY course materials from Train2Game. He cancelled his agreement to do the course one day after he signed it.

I just don't know what to do. Barclaycard want their £5,000, but we don't have it. As far as Barclaycard are concerned, we have no idea where the loan has come from, so should I ask them for the proof that the loan isn't fraudulent? Or do I ring Train2Game and find out what the hell is going on?

Any advice would be muchly appreciated.

ring traintogain...they have all the answers...looks like they failed to cancel....did your boyfriend sign anything.I doubt if fraud is involved..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

We only contacted Barclays as being Fraud as we had no idea where this loan had came from, it was a German company something like Scheigger or something, it wasn't until we googled it later that we realised what it was.

He signed an agreement when the adviser came round, and paid him a £100 cheque. The next day my boyfriend phoned Train2Game, and cancelled his cheque, requesting to cancel as he didn't want to do it just yet, due to unforeseen circumstances. They said that was fine, and there was nothing else to do.

So I should just phone Train2Game and see what they say?

    Thanks :)
