Fredrickson international online payments

just finished talking to a very rude and arrogant man collecting for fredrickson international on behalf of capital one. after a long and drawn out conversation of him demanding full payment and repeating himself several times, and me repeating myself telling him i will repay what i can afford on my terms not his he agreed a payment plan with me.
has anyone got any experience of their online payment system FREDPAY.COM because i refused to set up a direct debit with them (to his annoyance). or is it better i pay with a postal order. although i did agree to pay today i can send 1 tomorrow recorded delivery.
thank you.

What debt are they chasing you for & have they got any proof that you owe a debt?
Until they provide proof then i wouldnt pay a penny personally.0 -
the debt is mine, its from a capitalone card, i always made my payments even if a little late but capone refused to set up a repayment plan and i wouldnt pay until they held all interest and charges so they defaulted me and sent it to these people.
i just wanted to know if anyone had any experience of paying them online, negative or positive.0 -
I'm not familiar with the system but if captures your card details I would say beware!
Can you not ask them for their bank details and then set up a standing order?

Capital One have passed my debt and my husbands to Fredrickson International too - had several letters from them as well as masses of phone calls - but have not spoken to them as I refuse to go through security details and therefore they can't discuss the debt with me, under the Data Protection Act
I would not deal with them by telephone as you have no proof of what has been said and agreed - deal only with them by letter and tell them so
Send them a letter, enclose a postal order and ask for their bank details to set up a standing order/pay through internet banking - this puts you in control not them. Tell them that you refuse to deal with them by telephone, for them to remove your any numbers they have for you from their records as you withdraw authority for them to hold and use them under the DPA, and that you will only deal with them in writing in future There is a template for the 'letters only' on site somewhere - there is definitely one on Niddy's Unenforcabilty Thread
Saying that, how old is the original debt? If from before April 2007, have you considered Unenforcability? Check it out on Niddy's Unenforcability thread here however, if you decide that UE may be for you, then please note that Niddy has left this site, so his thread on here is not being updated, and now has his own with fully updated templates, advice, etc - you would need to check here and click on Forums

I would 100% write to them, I think you have been and adult and want to repay. Stick at what you can afford and dont let them push you.0

Dear charliemonkeyface,
I have also been dealing with fredrickson international due to capital one.I have used the https://www.fredpay.com website. You log in with a password(you make up) and username. You will have to set up an account which is easy to do online first. and can see online a statement of the account i.e when payments are recieved.Personally i do not allow others to determine when they will withdraw amounts as it is best to be in control as you may be short and end up in a worst state.Once you recieve a letter from them on the back or front it has the account details/sort code and reference number. you can set up a standing order to pay an amount that does not vary too greatly as they are very precise and start to rise your minimal amount if it is high. do an Offer in writing with the date it is to be effective from and keep a copy for your records. Most creditors would bully to see if you would offer a higher sum and this can effect your integrity to others so be proportionately fair depending on the balance owed. You can ask them for a payment card so that you can pay free of charge in paypoint /post office and payzones. They will contact you regularly to review the account but it is best to maintain a payment every month.
hope this encourages you0 -
