Hi everybody.
I haven't been on here for a while as i've been busy dealing with many other things and to be honest once the OR interview was over with i had pushed BR right to the back of the shelf.
I had my first correspondence from OR for ages today, as soon as i saw the postal mark i had a feeling of dread, i was expecting a summons to an interview or notification of a BRU due to my gambling behaviour which was a considerable factor in accruing the debts. But it was not...It was a letter explaining that i could be given early discharge but first i had to fill in a new income and expenditure form.
So, first of all i came back to look at some SOAs to refresh what i can include as expenditure and second to ask: what does this mean? Am i likely to escape a BRU? could i get early discharge? Have they got wind of a payrise and want to re-appraise my finances? I'm confused

I think that the new SOA is standard procedure for an ED.Look down your nose at me and I thumb my nose back at you.

Before ED you have to fill in a new SOA it's standard practise. If they are considering you for ED then you won't be getting a BRU at this stage - they would have done that before starting the ED procedures. So, yes you could get ED, as long as your OR's office doesn't get bogged down with other BR cases/your paperwork doesn't get filed at the bottom of the pile/lost/etc etc.
However - if you *have* had a payrise and haven't told them, they won't be very happy bunnies.....:oDo not feed the trolls please.0 -
That's good news, thanks.
However, since you mention them not being happy bunnies. I quote, the man who did the interview with me stated word for word "You don't need to let us know unless you start earning thousands and thousands of pounds more". This was due to my SOA being about -200 in the first place. I did tell them at the time i would be acting up into a new role and my estimated salary so should be alright hopefully. Woop about no BRU....really can't believe it after i p***ed away 20,000 or so. I still feel ashamed, but mightily relieved.0 -
hi paulc, was the gambling a long time before the bankrupty or was the amount gambled a small % of the total debt, if so, a BRO prob wouldnt be consideredHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

The gambling was the main cause of my debts, it contributed to about 70-80% of the overall debt and i was still gambling up to 6 months before bankruptcy. I was an addict for nearly 3 years but sought help to address this and had clean bank statements for 6 months to back this up. I was absolutely and completely resigned to the fact i would get a BRU/O. I still won't accept it until the discharge comes through but things are looking up!0
