Getafreelancer.com - Anyone?

Options
Good Morning All

Don't know if this is in the right place but has anyone used getafreelancer.com and if so how did you find it?

Is there any other good freelancing sites?

Thanks in advance :) x

I used to do a lot of freelance writing and proof reading. I occasionally used this website for odd bits of work when my work was low.

However, it's very low paid with people with no experience or qualifications were bidding silly small fees.

    I recommened Elance.com too.

I'd agree with Sazzy above. I am a developer and have done some freelance work in the past but i find its always better to get someone "local" that you can keep in contact with and if you can get someone recommended by a friend even better. The problem as already noted is that these "bidders" are usually call-centre type companies in India that just buy the work for a ridiculously cheap rate and then fire it at someone with little or no experience.
There is also rentacoder.com but as i saw, better to get someone local.

Can anyone recommend a site similar to getafreelancer but only covering the UK. I need help with data entry for my website, I advertised on getafreelancer, but as stated above, was inundated with replies from India and China from people with no experience of what I was after.

Problem with these sites is that it's hard to get work from them. You'll see a lot of the people on it have done LOADS of work and will offer ridiculous rates.

    Can't compete with them.

I was assuming the OP was offering work rather than seeking it?

webhostingtalk.com has lots of web related job offers and requests.
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it
