Marvel comics fans read this

If like me you spent some of your mis-spent youth reading Marvel comics (in their Stan Lee heyday, before they became the trashy company they are now) you might like to know about the DVDs they're now bringing out.

Recently I bought a DVD that contains scans of every Fantastic Four comic from issue #1 right up to Dec. 2004. They are beautiful scans made from actual isssues of the original comic books, with every page, including all those ads for the sea-monkeys and the X-ray specs (remember those?). Just beautiful.

They're bringing out X-Men this month, with The Avengers to follow in January and Spider-Man in February. Spider-Man is already out as 11 CDs but we'll get it all on one DVD in February.

I bought mine from Eagle One Media (http://www.eagleonemedia.com/comic_book_cd-roms.htm) but if you do a Google search you will find other shops, like Tales of Wonder.

In case anyone says this is not money-saving, well I paid $40 for the DVD containing 550 comics, the original issues of many of which sell for thousands of dollars each.
Eh?? I give up!! Towel is getting thrown in here! :D

Well they're being sold openly by US websites, shipped from the US, paid for by Visa and Mastercard, and discussed in comic book forums, so if they're not legal, Marvel's lawyers need a good kick.

Just looked and these are for sale on the Marvel website so they are official. Also the Spiderman one is only $24.99 form Marvel, $36 from eagleone, so better off going to the source - though they don't have X-Men yet.

I expect the Spider-Man CDs will keep on dropping in price because shops will want to get rid of their stock before the DVD arrives in February. I read somewhere yesterday that for the DVD they are digitally cleaning up some of the dirtier images on the CDs.
