Have updated signature with grocery spends. Am now up to a whooping £272.01. Will need to be strict with myself and really limit the top ups and stretch what we have in. I do need to pick up cous cous and some green salad. So I will try to leave those till the milk runs out.0

The Peach Pud was a success, the Recipe was on the back of my Packet of Ground Rice, it's called "Tropical Rice Dessert" and you're suppossed to use a tin of Pineapple but I had some Peach slices to up ...
scotsaver your recipe sounds good - I've listed it as Pineapple (or Peach) Pud... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

I have £46 to last until the 20th when OH can do a shop!
8 b'fasts, lunches & evening meals for me, OH and 3 teenagers (1 of which is pregnant!) & 2 kittys. Can I do it
I am veggie, son is almost, so I don't buy much meat, but daughter and boyfriend like meat (alot).
Do you think I would be mean asking dd's boyfriend to pay a bit of rent?
Any really cheap meal suggestions gratefully received.
Love this thread, big hugs to you all :grouphug:

it really depends on whether you are comfortable asking him or not, but i would consider the following - how old are they, how often does he stay at yours, and does he have his own income? for example, if he is staying there a lot, eating a lot of your food and other consumables, and is bringing in his own income, then i would be inclined to ask for a contribution... Another €26 spent last night. We needed milk and coffee, cooked meat for sambos and fruit. I also got some lemons (for hot lemon drinks to get me going again) and lullaby milk (to MAKE DD go to sleep earlier!! she does seem to settle better when she has it before bedtime). Oh, and coleslaw for with a quiche tonight for dinner.
Got the quiche from the freezer and put it into oven on timer, made a tuna/sweetcorn/pasta salad from storecupboard, and washed lettuce. All DD and the au pair have to do is set the table and serve tonight. DD had leftover pasta from Tues night, while I had curry from the freezer last night - AP was eating out with a friend.
I need to do a big clear out and restocking in general, I just feel a bit at sea at the moment. Hopefully things will settle down again over the weekend.GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897

He lives with us all the time, his mum and dad are divorced, mum is single mum with another lad. Never met his dad and step mum, they live a distance from us. He is 20 in July and has an apprenticeship so doesn't earn much, it was never really agreed he should live with us it just happened gradually so now feel really awkward. Think I will have to ask for something though. Thanks for taking the time to reply.🎄The most wonderful time of the year 🎄#14 - PAYDTBX23#23 - 1% debt challenge0 -

Out of interest sistercas - do you know how much you spend on your guineas every week/month?
What things do you do to try and save money in regards to their food/bedding etc.???
Curious as i have 8 guineas & 1 rabbit (DH's) and it quite scary when i tot up how much i spend with them - i know they are worth it though!0 -
Spent a whopping £44.92 on this week's grocery shop at Mr M's
However, it is the first week of a new diet and I always find that diet shopping costs more even though I don't buy specialist diet food and still cook everything from scratch. More fresh veg and fruit than I'd usually buy which takes the cost up, but more fresh fruit and veg can never be a bad thing!
Did save an enormous £12.43 because of Mr M's current Muller Rice deal (2 six packs for £2) :TDFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt
