NI and tax are two different offices of HMRC

You cant check on online, you need to contact the individual depts.

What tax are you wanting to claim back ?
I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.

I dont think that you can claim back any tax which was rightfully claimed by HMRC on your earnings in the uK, if you paid tax that wasn't due that would be claimable.

HMRC site states that you must contact your local IR office or enquiry center

    OK - so:
    1. What is your nationality?
    2. On what dates did you arrive and leave the UK?
    3. How many days were you present in the UK in each of the last 3 UK tax years (ignoring days of arrival and departure)?
    4. Have you considered paying voluntary UK NI contributions as these are a cheap way of buying a UK State pension?
