Thanks for the heads up OP!
I already had a 2018 iPad ready to collect from Argos from when they had them for £289 last week, but I had used £200 worth of Nectar Points to get it for £89 which I coldn't do with the Currys deal.
....however, that caused me to re-check Argos and it appears they have also dropped their price in response to just £10 more than Currys (£309), so I cancelled my original order and re-used the 40,000 returned Nectar Points (which re-appear almost instantly when you cancel an Argos order) to buy the 2019 for just an extra £20 (£109).
Edit: 27/11/19 - Just noticed Argos have also dropped the price to £299 today so I just cancelled and re-ordered again to save an extra tenner.
Also: see the additional potential incentive I have posted below.
• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.

Thank you! Just reserved the £299 2019 iPad with my local Argos. I think as mine is 7 years old I'm allowed to treat myself to a new one!!

Yup, my 7 year old son mainly uses mine now (I think it is an iPad 2) and it must be 8 years old and is chronically slow. Was thinking of getting him a new one for a while so when he came home from the childminder gutted that he had somehow cracked the screen I suddenly had his Christmas present sorted! 😊• The rich buy assets.

Extra possible bonus for anyone choosing Argos for the £299 deal.
If you buy an iPad you can claim an extra £50 on any trade in phones you sell to them (after 30 days from purchase).
I have an an iPhone 6S which I no longer need which they valued at £75 (which is still pretty good for a buyback site), but that would be boosted to £125 with the extra incentive.
This means I would get about the same as if I sold it on eBay, but with none of the risks!
So:
£349 for new iPad 2019
-£50 Argos discount
-£200 used in nectar points as part payment.
-£125 for my old phone (assuming the price offered doesn't drop in the next 30 days.)
=Total cost of new iPad 2019 = MINUS £26! :money:• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.
