Hello, I was wondering if anyone could advise me please. My oyster card has -20p on it somehow. I no longer use the card so wanted a refund. However because I'm in negative credit it won't allow the refund. Apparently the smallest top up is £5.....is this the way around the issue - top up a fiver then claim the £4.80 back and then the refund of the card?? Is there a minimum time I have to wait between topping up and claiming a refund etc?? Thanks in advance

I haven't tried it myself but it looks like you would need to apply by post, with a covering letter to:
TfL Customer Services, 4th Floor, 14 Pier Walk, London, SE10 0ES

Or maybe in person at a manned tourist office (as at Liverpool Street and other major stations).

If you're at Liverpool Street may as well just use a ticket machine on the underground station. If not near London apply over the internet.
