Interview with word test

Options
I’ve been fortunate enough to be selected for an interview at end of this month however I am required to sit a word test. Has anyone had an interview like this before? What can I expect in the test? I’ve tried to look online however can’t seem to see anything :-(

    A word test?

    As in the computer program?

    Or literacy?

    Or verbal reasoning?

    Or typing speed?

    Or spelling?

It's ok to call and ask which it is, if the letter does not make it clear.

Given the role I would suspect it's a test using Microsoft Word, the equivalent of the old typing test for those of a certain generation. From the ones my wife has done over the years it will probably be a combination of typing speed, accuracy, text formatting and similar elements.

I've always had to do word tests.
Basically format this in a table.
    Add in some page numbers.
Merge these addresses to this letter.
Reformat the screen to look like the print out.
Insert some images in a document, wrap the text.
    Etc

If you're using it everyday they just want someone who can do the work.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

It will be using Word the computer programme. I would concentrate on things like correct grammar and spelling and generally being competent enough to use a PC without having a meltdown as they can teach you their "way" of doing documents but it looks really bad if a university sends out things that are gramatically incorrect. Good news - universities are big on training and will likely have lots of courses you can do to learn their particular systems, brush up your skills etc. if you get the job and you need it.

I'm sorry, OP but, if you need to be told what a test of your Word skills involves, perhaps this is not the job for you.

As J4jax has described. The merging of addresses very likely. It's either something your familiar with or not. If not, you'll need to get practicing quickly.
