Hi, I am 65 years old and am looking to buy my rented social housing property under the right to buy scheme. I am looking to purchase this with my son in law who is in his 30s. Could someone offer advice on who would be likely to offer us a mortgage based on these circumstances please? i have been advised that Barclays may but does anybody know of any others? Thank you.

Does your son-in-law currently live in the property and you are making a joint application or is he looking to help you financially with the purchase but not live there?

Consider getting a mortgage broker but a lot will hinge on whether your son in law has RTB permissions or whether they can help financially to help you buy yourself
