We applied in branch direct for a mortgage on 14/05 and received email confirmation that it had been received and then on the 15/05 confirmation that it had been passed on for "full assessment". Today I have discovered (after phoning for an update) that our application needs to be "re-keyed" into a separate system because it was subject to a technical IT issue (nothing to do with our paperwork). Speaking to the Nationwide advisor, this apparently means that we will be issued a new application number but we will effectively be starting all over again. And indeed a DIP has been re-done as well, but they didn't know whether it was a hard or soft credit check.

They are quoting up to 5 working days to re-key it. :(

My concern now is that the advisor didn't know whether we would have to re-submit all our paperwork all over again further delaying things. Anyone offer any advice if this has happened to them before?
