Email through from Click Energy...
..am i reading this right?? In addition to their tariff they are now going to charge us an extra 11p `standing charge` per day !!!....what`s that all about??!!!
Change to your terms and conditions and additional charges
The new rate is 17.99p per kWh (including VAT) effective Tuesday 1st October 2019. This equates to a 5.87% increase in our tariff rate.In addition to our rate change, a daily standing charge of 11.138 pence per day (including VAT) will also be introduced to the new Click Energy pricing structure which can be found in the below tariff table and is also available on our website at: www.clickenergyni.com - this will become effective from Tuesday 1st October 2019.0 -
It certainly seems that way.
If you load up before tonight before 10th sept and the issue of the longer code will you be able to stay on existing tarrif and no standing charge until you need to top up again ?
Do I need to do anything?
No, as a prepayment customer, you will get a longer top-up code than usual (available from 10 September 2019), however the increase will only take effect from 01 October 2019.0 -
I got that email from Click energy as well, I moved to them from budget energy as they also started to charge a daily charge for the key pad meter. Any advice on who is best to switch to now? Thanks!0

Phoned Click Energy today, and long story short is you end up paying 11.138p per day even if you don`t use any electricity.
Eg, you switch everything off at home, go away on a months holiday and your meter will still be debited that amount every day.
Time to switch provider?0 -
If they are going to charge 11.138p for the privilege of being with Click Energy then its time to switch to another supplier.
That would work out around £37 a year just for the standing charge!!
Try these suppliers who do not apply a standing charge for keypad.

The standing used to be the norm a few years ago .It still applies to economy 7 .Last year budget reintroduced the standing charge to make their rate look lower ,this year click are doing the same ."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0
