No the national insurance contributions gets you the state pension. Nest is a government enrolling scheme I think. I've been in it nearly 5 years and don't have a lot in it and the prediction is it won't even pay the council tax bill. Contributions gone up now and again next April too

I extended my retirement date by 10 years on my NEST pension pot so it doesn't get moved into the 10 year 'consolidation phase' - I then moved everything into the high risk fund to gamble on higher returns. A risk but I already have 31 years of Local Government scheme pension contributions so a risk worth taking with my NEST pension pot. I think 99% of people have left their money in the default scheme.
I enjoy flower arranging, kittens, devil worship, the study of serial killers and their methods and road kill jigsaws.

OK so NEST isn’t the state pension?
It’s just a government created version of a company pension then?

Is it your NEST pension number or your NI number they are asking for? If it's the latter, they would be surprised if you didn't have one.
