Thinking of a DMP

Hi all, so I have roughly about £35k debt across 5 credit cards, 3 with MBNA, HSBC and Barclaycard. I've spent most of my adult life building up my debt since I had my first credit card and have spent so many years just moving it around on loads of different 0% offers but now those are ending and drying up, I cant and don't want to take out more. I've looked into both IVA or DMP and I really don't know what to do. I may start with a DMP and see how that goes. My partner is dead against me doing either as he had a bad experience with an IVA 15+ years ago but at the moment I'm paying nearly £650 a month on these cards, half of which is probably interest and as much as wants to help me pay it off unless he gives me 80% of his salary every month it will be a struggle! All the debt is in my name, we rent our house, don't own a car anymore and don't have any shared assets so it wont technically affect him, im tired of the stress and want to do something!

Hi lmcintyre86 and welcome to the forum
The best way to start your debt-busting journey is to complete a Statement of Affairs (SOA) and then post it up here for advice, guidance and support. See the link below. If you do decide to post your SOA, then please could you click on the 'Format for MSE' button near the bottom of the form. Thanks.
