Hi we phoned HMRC who did a online calculator for us and informed us we would owe £196 due to higher income on child benefit
However when we logged on and submitted the self assessment it shows we owe £914
We had a play around with the calculator and found what's making it jump up , it's the p11d amounts for van allowance and fuel
My question is am I already taxed on the van/fuel, so do we enter this amount on the self assessment or leave it off , at the moment we have added it but I dont want to pay more money for adding the wrong info TIA

Yes, everything has to go on the SA return form, whether it's already been taxed or not.0

The tax you paid on the van benefit is included in the tax deducted on your PAYE so you are getting credit fir it.
If you did not advise HMRC of the benefit then the calculation done by them would not include it.0
