Hi I am currently living overseas and my house is standing empty, I asked for rebate and was told in one nano second, I have to pay full amount

Unless your situation fits any of the circumstances listed at https://my.northtyneside.gov.uk/category/104/exemptions-discounts-and-reductions then you're liable for the full amount.
"Living abroad" isn't one of them.0 -
It all comes down to sole or main residence (http://lgfa92.co.uk/council-tax-occupancy-sole-main-residence/ ) and whether or not it remains at the property. If it doesn't them you can look at what is available for an unoccupied property otherwise the property is still regarded as occupied for council tax purposes.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
