Arrow Global - In debt

Hello,
Looking for some advice here.
I lived in Japan for the past 3.5 years recently returned to the UK to my parents house. When I got back I had letters from the bank dated: 25th January 2017, saying I owe £493.77 due to overdraft, and this is the final notice. Details state they also passed on my details to Experian, Equifax and Callcredit to chase what I owe.
I arrived back in the UK in 2018 July.
And also found a letter saying my bank account was closed In February 2017.
I’ve had no letters until a few days ago, one from Arrow Global claiming I owe the same sum, however it was addressed to my parents address where I am not a resident.
Any advice on how to handle this?

Hi,
Before you left the Uk did you have a bank account overdraft that you forgot to pay back ?
The bank thinks you did, but banks don’t deal with bad debt, they sell the debts on, and yours has been picked up by arrow global, who now own it.
The three companies you mentioned are all credit reference agencies, they just record your data, they don’t chase debts, they leave that to companies such as Arrow.
Best first response is to send the provit letter to them :

I wasn’t aware I had one at all, I knew I had some money in my bank when I enetered Japan, and withdrew some, guess I had less than I originally thought. + the conversions and foreign country withdrawal charges didn’t help.0

Hi Keller here, forgot my account.
I sent a provit letter, and they sent out every statement I’ve had from My bank account, after they requested the information.
“HSBC have confirmed this account relates to Bank account (*************) and closed to HSBC recovery services on 21st February 2017”
“Please find enclosed statements, a copy of the formal overdraft facility letter and applicable terms and conditions”
“The account has been placed on hold for 14 days, please contact us to discuss further”
They have included all statements, up to when my account closed.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.0 -
Presumably you walked away from it while there were still fees being taken.
HSBC have now sold the debt at a hefty discount to Arrow.
You could offer Arrow 30p in the £ using this letter
