Private Pension to SIPP

Options
I am self-employed and have a private pension. I currently have an IFA who takes a fixed annual charge (£400) from the pension.
I am thinking of transferring my private pension to a SIPP. Will I still need to involve the IFA?
I would appreciate any pointers about what I should look out for?

You dont need to involve the IFA if you intend to DIY.

You will need to build your own portfolio. Costs may or may not be cheaper than what you have and providers cannot give you any advice. You will be responsible.

Many people DIY successfully. Many make a right pigs ear of it. Some do it to take control. Some do it and dont take control and it suffers because of it.

What portfolio style are you going to use? What funds have you identified? What features and functions have you identified as being important to you and which provider gives you those cost effectively?
