Hi.

18 year old son passed his driving test yesterday. Any recommendations as to who to go to get quotes?

Tried AXA in his own name and with their app quote is £2329  - Not sure if this is reasonable or not.

Any advice really appreciated.

Assume you've tried the usual things: telematics, adding an experienced driver as a named driver on the policy...?

I got my 18yr old niece a quote on her own car using the usual online comparison sites & everyone required the black box to be fitted to the car but most where coming in around £1200 based upon a £1000 fiesta so it'll depend what you're trying to insure him on & its value

I found Admiral/Diamond to be the best.

Hi, just found this thread, who did you end up insuring with?

My 17 yo son passed his test today and I've been trying all the comparison sites. The cheapest came up as Hastings Direct at £1309 but then when I went on their website I got an error message when I entered the postcode. Was wondering if they don't actually cover NI?
