after 20 odd years have only come into contact with 1 Greek who tried to rip us off, saying that it was only £3.. for toast!
We've been on holidays when the 'extras', liqueurs, brandies, coffees and desserts that they gave us for nowt would have cost twice the meal price at home

Definitely Crete for me, although I've liked all the Greek Islands I've been to. I keep going back year on year so it can't be that bad :D

5p off fuel offer when you buy any 2 selected products.

The 750ml water, is 2 for £2.00, so if you buy 40 litres of fuel, you have still spent the £2.00 you save :rotfl::rotfl:

I picked up 4 cans of coke for £1.50 so in theory saved 50p :rotfl:

Notes the price of super unleaded is £1.319 a litre, (£5.80 in old money)

    I know:o

There’s not a cheap BP anywhere around here.

I always double to points up in my mind but even so, it’s not worth it:o

I don't think I brought them over, I seem to remember it differently :o but I do have rather a stash of them at the mo :D every time I go past a Shaws, which to be fair isn't that often, o pop in and buy 10 more :rotfl:
Don't know why, but I thought it was you in your previous life!

I've looked at the addresses on the side of the bags thinking I'll pop in when I'm there but never am.

I would never do AI in Greece either, though lots of Germans and Russians do when I've been. I like to get out and go where the locals go :)
So with you on that one DD.. never come across many Germans in Greece, but many years ago BIL was in Corfu and got crap service, he challenged waiter and he said well you are German!!
Well, no, but his mother was!

The Russians holidaying there usually have 'too much' money (I wish) and the rest of the eastern Europeans are very money savvy and spend nowt!!

I love the Greek Islands, but would never do them AI, You meet peeps and get more for your spend when you stay Sc or b&b

I realise AI is not always the best idea but this needs to be a holiday where neither of us needs to think :o...bit difficult to explain. I'm looking for something where absolutely everything is included even down to bottles of water. I know it's not very MSE...:o

The hotel I have found in Rhodes even does packed lunches if you request them for day trips. I have been to Rhodes before B&B and loved the old town in the evenings.

Only been to Crete once, allocated on arrival, Malia!! saying that we went away from 'the strip' and had a fantastic time.. the only place I've been when the waiter wanted to take pics of us before we left!

    Yes, but it's a while ago....

I went to Agadir with a female friend in 2004 to celebrate our 50th birthdays. Brilliant time, camel-riding one day, and another day we did an evening trip into the desert to see a Berber village, with sunset, traditional tagine supper and drumming and dancing, rest of the time was souk, hotel pool, beach, shopping, massage etc. And lots of food.

Ate out every evening, intending to try different venues but inevitably we found a favourite early on, and at the end of every meal they presented a red rose to each of us. Hotel had nightly entertainment, quite a variety, juggling, traditional singers etc, followed by disco, and the waiters were very polite and friendly, always made time for a chat.

Taxis were cheap and we had no problems. Apart from the night we locked ourselves out of the room, we had gone to sit outside in pjs and the door slammed shut in a breeze, so yours truly had to wander through the disco dressed in my best Victorias Secret, looking for staff. Then we had to wait while they got ladders to send someone in through the window as the key was inside the lock...

And there was a guy we met in the souk, but that's another story...

    All good fun. :D

We made a point of dressing respectfully to go out, long summer skirts/trousers, but hotel was very relaxed.

You might have sold it to me. ;) it's higher on DD's list than mine.
