I'm just completing my self assessment form for 2017/18 - my tax situation is fairly straightforward. However there's one query I'm not completely sure about.

I can enter the amount of charitable payments made which can offset some of my tax bill as a higher rate payer. There have been a couple of occasions where my wife has visited a museum/RHS garden and agreed to pay for entry with gift aid added/included with the ticket price. As such I believe this qualifies as a charitable donation.

One each occasion she paid by credit card. One of these was a card in her name, and the other with a card in my name (where she is an additional card holder). I pay the monthly credit card bills for each card.

Do either or both of these count as a charitable donation I can include in my self assessment form as ultimately I paid for them?

Thanks!
If I had a pound for every time I didn't play the lottery...

She would have had to put a name/address on gift aid form.....if it was hers then you can't claim.
