Mortgage with a loan

Hi All,
I know that mortgages can not be funded by a personal loan.
However, what happens if you got a personal loan to consolidate all your debts (£20k), and then have been saving for a deposit in background.
So you have got enough for a deposit now through saving but the personal loan is still there. I could therefore pay off the loan but then would start with nothing again.
I have done all the affordability checks and my salary is good enough to pay both the mortgage and personal loan repayments over the next 4 years.
Would the personal loan repayment of £500 just be a deduction to the amount that I can borrow?
In other words, is it still possible to get a mortgage with a personal loan (as long as you can afford both)
Thanks,
